Jessica Malat (UPAC Alumna), a New Jersey native, began her professional training at Goucher College in Baltimore. She then relocated to New York to further her training with the Pushing Progress Contemporary Training Program where she trained with Calen Kurka, Chris Hale, Loni Landon, Bryn Cohn, Sidra Bell, and Gregory Dolbashian. She has additionally trained under the direction of Summer Lee Rhatigan at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. Jessica has had the pleasure of performing at CUNY Baruch PAC, the Scottish Masonic Performing Arts Center in San Francisco, and Chop Shop Festival in Seattle in works by Alex Ketley, Courtney Mazieka, Bryn Cohn, Calen Kurka, and Trebien Pollard. Through Bryn Cohn + Artists, she has taught workshops at renowned studios such as Peridance Capezio Arts Center, Velocity Dance Center in Seattle, as well as numerous college dance programs. She currently dances with Bryn Cohn + Artists and Corinne Shearer and Dancers, in addition to other NYC based projects. Jessica recently graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's in Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies and is teaching in the tri-state area while working as a freelance artist in New York.
